EMDR Intensives
A Faster Way to Heal
EMDR Intensives are a way to condense therapeutic progress and overcome struggles and reduce or eliminate symptoms more quickly. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing) therapy is well-researched and the gold-standard treatment for treating trauma. EMDR is also helpful to address anxiety, difficulties with life transitions (like divorce, motherhood, death of loved ones), improve performance in future work or personal experiences, and address problematic behaviors (urges to drink, urges for substance use, compulsions for problematic coping). EMDR therapy taps into your brain’s innate ability to heal. EMDR Intensives condenses this healing into shorter timelines.
EMDR Intensives are offered in 3-6 hour blocks over the course of 1-3 days of EMDR therapy. This can be in-person or online. Michelle is an EMDR Certified Therapist and an EMDRIA Approved EMDR Consultant. She is trained in various EMDR protocols and strategies to treat a variety of issues with EMDR therapy, as well as additional training in facilitating EMDR Intensives.

EMDR Intensives can be booked online or in-person. Online services are offered through a secure online platform for anyone located in Texas, Florida, Louisiana, or Virginia at the time of the sessions. In-person sessions are offered in our East Dallas location. Folks who live outside these areas can travel to the areas for sessions, including to Dallas for in-person intensives.

Research shows EMDR Intensives can be just as effective as weekly EMDR therapy. However EMDR Intensives allow you to make these gains in a much shorter timeframe.
In addition to having more hours of therapy in a shorter timeframe, more time is spent on treatment to resolve symptoms. This helps you move towards symptom reduction or elimination faster. Weekly 50 minute EMDR sessions often involve the therapist spending time opening the session, and time at the end of sessions containing and closing the incomplete session. This leaves about 30 minutes of EMDR reprocessing a session.

Half-day intensives are $650 (3 hours of therapy) and full day instensives are $1,300 (6 hours of therapy per day). Medical or Mental Health Insurance does not cover or reimburse the cost of EMDR Intensives at this time.
I charge a 50% non-refundable deposit to hold the dates for the intensive. This is applied to the balance of your intensive. The remaining balance is due the first day of session.
-
Clients may reschedule the intensive one week prior to the scheduled date of the intensive without penalty. If client completes the EMDR Intensive, the deposit is applied to their Intensive cost.
